Why would anyone take the spread? It prices a lopsided game closer to even odds. A strong favourite is cheap on the moneyline and costly to beat by six.
NBA Betting Philippines: A Peso Example
What does a bet return? Stake ₱300 on a moneyline at decimal 1.60. The total back is ₱480, so the profit is ₱180. A losing bet returns nothing.
And a spread bet? Priced at 1.90, ₱300 returns ₱570 in total, which is ₱270 of profit, but only if the team clears the margin.
- Write down the stake before you read the odds.
- Multiply by the decimal odds for the return.
- Subtract the stake for the profit you are actually playing for.
Overtime, Voids and Limits
